Build the Drill Arm to mine large ore deposits with the Prawn Suit and gather bulk materials for later fabrication.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Drill Arm fragments at wreck sites, including recorded sites in the Grand Reef and Mushroom Forest regions.
The Prawn Suit Drill Arm is a progression upgrade that enables mining large resource deposits. Scan its fragments at wreck sites, complete the blueprint, fabricate the arm, and install it at a Vehicle Upgrade Console. Once equipped, use the Prawn on large deposits; loose pieces remain hand pickups and do not require the arm.
Laser Cutter for sealed wreck access where needed.
Prawn Suit and Vehicle Upgrade Console for installation.
Prawn Suit Drill Arm blueprint completed from scanned fragments.
Search wreck sites in the Grand Reef or Mushroom Forest regions for Drill Arm fragments.
Scan each fragment you find and continue until the blueprint is complete.
Fabricate the Drill Arm using the completed blueprint and required materials.
Bring the arm to a Vehicle Upgrade Console and install it on the Prawn Suit.
Travel to a large resource deposit that you have identified and that lies within vehicle depth limits.
Use the Drill Arm against the deposit until the mined resources are released.
Collect the output and return to base to sort it for crafting.
Farming tips
Mark large deposits during earlier exploration so you can make a focused drilling trip once the arm is installed.
Use the arm for large deposits; pick up loose material by hand to avoid wasting time drilling the wrong target.
Repeat, collect and use
Fragment scanning is a limited blueprint progression step. Once installed, the arm can be reused on remaining large deposits, which are finite at each location.
Common mistakes
Searching without a Scanner: fragments must be scanned to advance the blueprint.
Expecting a single fragment to always complete the blueprint: keep scanning until the blueprint registers complete.
Trying to drill loose pieces: collect them directly and save the arm for large deposits.
When to stop or switch
Stop wreck searching when the blueprint is complete; stop a drilling trip once you have enough material or the vehicle's depth and condition make the return unsafe.
