WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Scanner Room at a seabase positioned within range of the target resource biome.
A Scanner Room can search its local surroundings for a selected resource. Its display helps narrow down where to travel, but collection still happens in the biome: pick up loose pieces by hand or drill large deposits with the correct equipment. Place rooms near the areas you intend to scan, and use the HUD Chip to track targets while moving.
Scanner Room HUD Chip for tracking scan results while away from the console.
Camera drone for locating targets visually, if useful.
Pickup tool or Drill Arm appropriate to the resource deposit.
Open the Scanner Room console and choose a resource that can occur in the nearby biome, such as Lithium or Magnetite.
Start the scan and review the available nearby targets.
Equip the HUD Chip so the resource markers can guide you outside the room.
Use a camera drone if you need to inspect the terrain and judge a safe path to the highlighted area.
Travel to the target marker and confirm the resource visually before collecting.
Pick up loose resources directly; use the Prawn Drill Arm on large deposits that require drilling.
Return with the output and select another scan when you need a different resource.
Farming tips
A Scanner Room only covers its local area; a room near your base will not search a distant biome.
Confirm the item in the world before spending time on it, since the scan narrows location but does not collect resources.
Repeat, collect and use
Scanning can be repeated while the room has power and eligible nearby targets. Resources themselves are limited pickups or deposits in the surrounding area.
Common mistakes
Scanning for a resource absent from the local biome: choose a target that can occur nearby or build closer to its region.
Assuming the Scanner Room collects items: travel to each target and pick it up or drill it.
Leaving the HUD Chip behind: use it if you want scan markers while away from the console.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the required amount, the nearby targets are exhausted, or a more distant resource requires relocating the Scanner Room.
