Battle > Dimension Hole for Second Awakening and dimensional areas; Crafting for the Ancient material recipes.
Ancient upgrade materials connect two Dimension Hole activities: collect Ancient Magic Stones from Second Awakening dungeons and Rune Ores from dimensional areas, then use the crafting interface for an Ancient Gem or Ancient Grindstone recipe. Choose the intended recipe before farming so each material supports a real rune improvement. Ancient Gems and Ancient Grindstones serve rune-subproperty improvement roles; check the displayed recipe and target rune before spending materials. This is a focused material chain, and it does not guarantee a specific drop or craft outcome beyond the recipe shown in game.
Unlock Dimension Hole and the relevant Second Awakening dungeon or dimensional area.
Identify an Ancient rune and the Ancient upgrade material that can improve it.
Check the current crafting recipes and required materials in game.
Choose whether an Ancient Gem or Ancient Grindstone is the useful target for your rune.
Open the selected Second Awakening dungeon and farm for its Ancient Magic Stone rewards.
Collect the results and track stones toward the recipe shown in Crafting.
Run the relevant dimensional area to gather its Rune Ore.
Open Crafting and confirm you have the required materials for the chosen recipe.
Craft the item, then use it only on a compatible Ancient rune worth keeping.
Farming tips
Select the recipe first so you do not spend materials on a different Ancient upgrade than planned.
Recipe costs and available options should be confirmed in the current crafting screen.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the material chain while you want additional Ancient upgrades and the recipes remain available. Each crafted item consumes materials; no particular drop quantity is assumed.
Common mistakes
Farming without choosing a recipe; decide on the intended Ancient item first.
Spending a crafted upgrade on temporary gear; reserve it for a rune you plan to keep.
Assuming a fixed amount of materials per run; track actual drops and the recipe requirements shown.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting once you can craft and use the planned upgrade, or switch to ordinary rune farming if no current Ancient rune merits materials.
