Water Wheels convert a prepared plant and component supply into sustained power through connected Crank Generators.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A Water Wheel site connected to Crank Generators and the factory’s powered machines.
Build power outward from a working generator network rather than adding machines to an unverified grid. At Victor Tier 2, a Water Wheel uses Shiverthorn Extract, Iron Frames, and Mechanical Components. Connect Crank Generators to the wheel and confirm that the network supports the machines you intend to run.
Water Wheel crafted from 2 Shiverthorn Extract, 8 Iron Frames, and 32 Mechanical Components.
Crank Generator technology and generators.
Cable or connected power infrastructure reaching the intended consumers.
Unlock Water Wheel at the appropriate Victor tier and verify the recipe in its panel.
Produce Shiverthorn Extract from Shiverthorn Buds in a Thresher and reserve two units for each planned wheel.
Supply an Assembler with two Extract, eight Iron Frames, and 32 Mechanical Components to craft a wheel.
Place the wheel at the chosen power site and connect Crank Generators to it.
Connect the generators to the factory network using the available power infrastructure.
Attach a small set of consumers and verify their power state before expanding the network.
Add further wheel capacity only after checking the current generator connection behavior and factory demand.
Farming tips
The guide describes a connection limit of up to ten Crank Generators per Water Wheel before efficiency drops; check current machine details when scaling.
Keep extract and component buffers dedicated to wheel production so power expansion does not compete invisibly with other recipes.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat wheel crafting and connection as demand grows. Each wheel is a crafted unit; its ongoing power depends on a working connection and current game behavior.
Common mistakes
Placing a wheel without connecting generators: test the complete chain before attaching loads.
Spending extract reserved for wheels: keep a dedicated buffer per planned wheel.
Expanding without checking efficiency: inspect generator counts and network performance before adding more.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding power generation when connected machines remain powered at their normal load; expand again if newly attached consumers create a shortfall.
