Bait Critters

Bait is consumed during fishing. Collecting catchable critters while exploring helps sustain fishing trips and reduces interruptions.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Surface grass and other critter habitats, including caves and the Jungle.

Carry a Bug Net while exploring surface grass, caves, the Jungle and other critter habitats. Catch visible worms, grasshoppers and other bait critters before they disappear, and check around disturbed plants and cave areas. Crates are a backup source. Store the catch safely and take only the bait you need for a fishing session; unusual or valuable critters may have other uses. This is a supplemental collection route during exploration rather than a guaranteed harvest from one fixed location.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A Bug Net.
  • Safe access to critter habitats.
  • Inventory space or a storage chest for captured bait.
  1. Obtain a Bug Net and keep it easy to access while traveling.
  2. Walk across surface grass and watch for worms, grasshoppers and other moving critters.
  3. Catch useful critters before they escape or are harmed.
  4. Explore caves and the Jungle, checking open ground and disturbed plants.
  5. Collect bait from crates when available as an additional source.
  6. At base, separate ordinary bait from critters saved for other purposes.
  7. Before fishing, move the session’s bait into your inventory.

Farming tips

  • Keep the Bug Net in an accessible hotbar slot so passing critters are not lost.
  • Save unusual or valuable critters when common bait will serve the session.

Repeat, collect and use

Collect critters whenever they appear during exploration. Bait is consumed when used, so replenish it; crates are another variable source.

Common mistakes

  • Chasing a critter without a net ready; keep the tool accessible.
  • Using every captured critter as bait; reserve unusual catches for other uses.
  • Leaving bait in storage before departure; move the session supply into your inventory.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have enough common bait for the next trip. Resume gathering as supplies run low.
