WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Mud in the Hardmode Underground Jungle and Cavern, after defeating all three mechanical bosses.

Chlorophyte becomes available after all three mechanical bosses have been defeated. Find it in mud in the Underground Jungle and Cavern, then mine it with a Pickaxe Axe or Drax. For a renewable top-up, leave some ore with surrounding mud instead of stripping each patch; Chlorophyte can spread into nearby mud over time. This growth is gradual, so searching more of the Jungle is still the practical way to build a large supply quickly. Collect ore for your planned equipment or crafting, and leave part of each chosen source intact for later.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Hardmode access and all three mechanical bosses defeated.
  • A Pickaxe Axe or Drax to mine Chlorophyte.
  • Mud around deposits you intend to preserve.
  1. Defeat the three mechanical bosses to unlock Chlorophyte generation.
  2. Go to the Underground Jungle or Cavern and inspect mud-lined caves for ore deposits.
  3. Clear nearby threats and identify the edges of each deposit before mining.
  4. Mine the amount you need with a Pickaxe Axe or Drax.
  5. Choose several deposits to preserve; leave some ore embedded in surrounding mud.
  6. Return later and check those retained patches for ore that has spread into nearby mud.
  7. Collect the new ore while leaving part of each source intact for another growth cycle.
  8. Smelt or otherwise use the collected ore for the equipment or crafting goal you planned.

Farming tips

  • Keep more than one source patch so the gradual farm does not depend on a single deposit.
  • If you need a large amount soon, search additional Jungle mud rather than waiting on regrowth.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable but slow: revisit retained deposits, mine spread ore, and keep some source ore with surrounding mud. A deposit fully mined out will not provide another cycle.

Common mistakes

  • Searching before defeating all three mechanical bosses; defeat them first to unlock Chlorophyte.
  • Stripping an entire patch; leave some ore embedded in mud to preserve a source.
  • Removing the surrounding mud; retain nearby mud so the ore can spread.

When to stop or switch

Stop mining when you have enough for the planned craft; leave preserved patches growing while you gather other materials.
