WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Trees across the island surface, with cutting focused near a chosen building site or a safe hauling route.
Turn trees into a staged supply at your building site. Fell only as many trees as you can safely move, then use a holder or sled to make the next construction session easier. Tree regrowth depends on the world setting, so do not assume a cleared patch will replenish itself.
Before you go A chopping tool such as the Plane Axe or Modern Axe. A Log Holder or Log Sled to stage collected logs. A clear area around trees and the intended building site. Choose trees near the build site or along a short, unobstructed path to it. Check that falling trunks will not hit you, a shelter, or a completed structure. Chop a tree with your axe until it falls and drops logs. Pick up the logs and carry them to the site, or load them onto a Log Sled for a longer haul. Place logs in a Log Holder to keep a reserve together. Use the staged logs to fill the material requirement shown on your building blueprint. Repeat with another nearby tree when the holder or project needs more. Farming tips Keep cutting lanes clear so falling trees do not damage work you have already completed. A sled is useful for moving a batch; a holder is useful for keeping the building site stocked. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable while suitable trees remain. Regrowth depends on the regrowing-trees setting, so a depleted area may not recover in every world.
Common mistakes Chopping beside finished structures: move to a clear patch before felling trees. Carrying logs one by one over a long route: stage them in a holder or use a sled. Expecting trees to return in every save: check the world setting and plan another source area if needed. When to stop or switch Stop cutting when the blueprint is filled or your holder has enough logs for the next planned building section.
