Where to farm
Current campaign research objective and its indicated mission target or data source.
Use the live research panel to identify the requested data type, then survey the relevant marked target and complete the indicated collection action. This is a target-led progression task rather than a generic scan-everything route.
A mission area containing the requested target or data source.
The scanner or collection action specified by the objective.
Open the research objective and read the exact requirement.
Note the requested data type and any target named on the mission map.
Travel to that mission area and reveal the indicated target.
Use the scan or collection interaction shown for that object.
Check the objective panel for progress before leaving the area.
Gather any remaining amount or objective item requested.
Return to the research interface and unlock the technology once requirements are met.
Farming tips
Follow the currently active objective because research asks can change with progression.
Confirm objective progress before using a rift to leave the mission.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat when a later research objective requests another scan or data type. Each specific research unlock is a progression step, not an endlessly repeatable reward.
Common mistakes
Collecting a different resource because it looks similar: match the named requirement exactly.
Leaving before verifying progress: check the active panel in the field.
Assuming every scan grants research points: use the objective’s stated collection method.
When to stop or switch
Stop scanning once the active requirement is complete and the intended research node is available; move to the next listed objective.
