WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At a District Crossing connecting two districts, with local Hauling Posts near production and storage where needed.
A District Crossing transfers goods between two district path networks using workers on each side and configured distribution rules. A Hauling Post handles local movement between production buildings and storage inside its district. Keep those jobs distinct: local haulers do not carry goods to or from crossings, and they do not collect raw map materials.
Two districts with path networks connected through a District Crossing.
Crossing workers on the sides that need to move goods.
Import/export settings for the selected goods and destination storage.
Hauling Posts and workers for local district movement where useful.
Place the District Crossing where the two district paths meet and verify each side belongs to the intended district.
Open Manage Distribution and choose the goods to transfer.
Set the sending district’s export setting for those goods and configure the receiving district to import as appropriate.
Employ crossing workers on each side so transfers can take place.
Provide accessible storage on both sides and check whether the intended good is moving.
Use local Hauling Posts to move goods between production buildings and storage within each district.
Review inventories and settings when a transfer stalls; adjust the route or distribution rule before adding workers.
Farming tips
Crossing workers perform transfers between districts; local haulers do not service the crossing.
A crossing supports up to 10 workers per side, but staffing cannot fix missing settings or inaccessible storage.
Repeat, collect and use
Transfers continue while goods, workers, storage capacity, and the configured import/export rules allow them. Update distribution when district needs change.
Common mistakes
Expecting a Hauling Post to move goods through a crossing: assign crossing workers and configure distribution.
Setting export without a receiving route or storage: inspect both districts’ path and inventory access.
Trying to transfer goods before connecting two district networks: verify each crossing side belongs to the intended district.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding crossing or hauling staff when goods reach their destination reliably; revise distribution or storage if one side is accumulating goods it does not need.
