WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A safe crop plot or resource gathering area near base; quests and NPC vendors are alternatives where present.
Experience can come from harvesting crops and resources, killing enemies or animals, completing quests and selling items to NPC vendors. The best activity depends on what you need anyway: crop harvests support Agriculture, while tree work benefits from Outdoors. XP does not spend itself, so open the Skills menu and invest deliberately in the skill tied to your repeated task.
An available XP balance or a repeatable activity that awards XP.
Safe access to a crop, resource, quest or vendor activity.
Choose the skill that improves a task you actually repeat, such as Agriculture for crops or Outdoors for tree work.
Harvest crops or resources near base to earn XP while collecting useful materials.
If crops or nodes are not available, complete a suitable quest, kill enemies or animals safely, or sell items to an NPC vendor.
Open the Skills menu after earning experience.
Spend the available XP on the selected skill rather than assuming the activity upgraded it automatically.
Return to the same activity and use the improved skill as part of the regular gathering loop.
Reassess your next skill priority as your survival needs change.
Farming tips
Agriculture improves crop and plant harvesting; Outdoors improves tree chopping and resource recovery.
Spend experience before a dangerous trip if your difficulty settings can penalize death.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat harvesting, resource work, quests, combat or vendor sales to earn more XP. Each activity is repeatable where available; quests and vendor stock or access may be limited by the scenario.
Common mistakes
Expecting XP to assign itself: spend it in Skills.
Choosing a skill unrelated to your routine: match the upgrade to the activity you want improved.
Assuming all scenarios award or penalize XP identically: check the active game settings.
When to stop or switch
Stop the XP loop when the intended skill level or immediate need is met; switch to the activity that supplies the next needed resource.
