WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Farm, botanist, civilian or industrial locations confirmed on your selected map; map layout determines the route.
Unturned’s named locations and loot tables depend on the map, so a useful route begins with the map you are actually playing. Pair a farm or botanist search for Wheat and seeds with an industrial stop only when you need Metal Scrap. Keep the loop focused on one supply goal, record the stops that worked and return to the same safehouse to process the haul.
The active map and access to its map screen or location information.
A safehouse to store and process supplies.
Inventory capacity and a specific resource goal.
Choose one target, such as starter Wheat Seed or Metal Scrap, before setting out.
Identify farm or botanist buildings for seed needs, or construction sites, garages, harbors and warehouses for scrap.
Confirm the candidate locations exist on the active map; do not borrow a route from another map without checking.
Mark a return path to your safehouse and leave enough inventory room for the target.
Search the buildings relevant to the chosen resource instead of clearing unrelated locations.
Collect the haul, then return to base and store seeds, food or scrap separately.
Record which stops were useful and adjust the next run based on your actual results.
Farming tips
The location index is useful for confirming map-specific named areas, but loot remains variable.
Pair stops only when they are close enough on your map to keep the return practical.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the route when the target supply is depleted. Loot runs are repeatable activities, but no location guarantees the same contents on every visit.
Common mistakes
Assuming a site exists on every map: verify its presence in the selected map.
Mixing too many resource goals: prioritize one target so inventory and route stay manageable.
Treating the route as a guaranteed loot table: adapt to what the current map actually yields.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the target reserve is sufficient or the useful buildings are empty; switch to a crop plot or salvage method if it can provide the resource more reliably.
