Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Scout a Fuling village from a safe distance and identify a retreat route.
  2. Clear a manageable path to a field or storage area and collect initial barley.
  3. Return to a defensible Plains plot and cultivate the soil.
  4. Plant some barley directly; harvested barley is also the planting input.
  5. Leave crops spaced and under open sky, checking plant status if growth fails.
  6. Harvest mature barley and reserve part for replanting.
  7. Mill surplus barley into Barley Flour at a Windmill and store it for food recipes.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the harvest, reserve, and milling loop. Each planting batch renews the farm, while milling consumes the barley processed.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to grow barley outside the Plains: move the plot to Plains soil.
  • Looking for a separate seed item: plant harvested barley directly.
  • Milling the whole harvest: reserve barley for replanting first.

When to stop or switch

Stop milling when flour stores cover your cooking plans, while retaining enough barley to replant.
