Farm crowns from respawning Velen bandits

A practical repeatable source of weapon loot when you need crowns for repairs, diagrams, or crafting supplies.

PC / Global, Complete Edition with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

The recorded circuit includes camps northeast of Alness, southwest of Drahim Castle, and southeast of Ursten, with Giant’s Toes in Skellige as an additional stop.

Respawning bandit groups can turn travel between Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige into a steady weapon-selling loop. The weapons are level-scaled, so their value tends to improve later in the game. This is a loot route rather than a guaranteed income rate: enemy drops and merchant funds vary. Sell the weapons to suitable smiths or merchants, then spend the crowns on the upgrades or components you are pursuing.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Have access to the relevant Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige signposts.
  • Carry enough inventory capacity for several weapons.
  • Know a nearby smith or merchant where you can sell the haul.
  1. Fast travel to a listed camp and confirm that its bandits have returned.
  2. Defeat the bandits, then search each body and nearby lootable containers for weapons.
  3. Repeat at the other listed Novigrad-area stops, including the camps near Alness, Drahim Castle, and Ursten.
  4. Travel to Giant’s Toes in Skellige and clear that group if it is available.
  5. Fast travel between the landmasses to refresh the other area’s enemies; the route does not require meditation.
  6. When your inventory is filling, take the weapons to a smith or merchant and sell the surplus.
  7. Use the crowns for a named gear upgrade, repair, or missing crafting component.

Farming tips

  • Check weapon weight and value before keeping anything for personal use; low-value heavy pieces fill capacity quickly.
  • Compare nearby buyers when convenient, since merchant stock and available crowns are not identical.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat by clearing available groups, traveling between landmasses to refresh them, and selling when inventory space or merchant funds run low. Enemy refreshes and loot are not a fixed yield.

Common mistakes

  • Do not build the loop around Devil’s Pit: it no longer respawns bandits after patch 4.0. Use the listed camps instead.
  • Do not keep every weapon until encumbered; sell a batch before capacity prevents further looting.
  • Do not expect the same crown total each circuit; levels, drops, and the buyer affect the result.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the crowns for the purchase you planned, or switch to quest income and exploration if travel and selling take longer than the upgrade is worth.
