Ores and raw resources

Naonite

A repeatable mid-early progression farm for Naonite, the next ore goal when ship construction needs a higher material tier.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A reachable asteroid sector that the galaxy map identifies as containing Naonite, closer to the core than your starting region.

Naonite becomes available as you move inward through the galaxy’s material progression. The map is the practical way to confirm a target sector because sector contents are procedurally generated. Mine there directly or assign a capable ship to a Mining Operation, then bring raw ore to a depot for refining.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A mining ship with a Mining Turret; remote operations require at least one mining turret.
  • Cargo space for raw ore and a route to a Resource Depot.
  • Captain and serviceable crew for a remote Mining Operation.
  • A Mining Subsystem or a scouting pass if you want to improve operation area information.
  1. Use the galaxy map to find a reachable sector marked with Naonite; do not rely on a fixed distance from the core.
  2. Review the sector’s faction and threat context, then choose a safer location if the mining ship is lightly protected.
  3. Check that the ship has a mining turret and enough cargo room for the intended run.
  4. Mine asteroids manually, or assign the ship to a Mining Operation in the selected sector.
  5. If using an operation, scout the area beforehand when possible and inspect its area score and cargo efficiency before committing.
  6. Retrieve the ship when its hold is nearing capacity or the operation’s risk no longer suits your fleet.
  7. Unload the ore at a Resource Depot and refine it for ship construction or upgrades; preserve a reserve if you still need raw material elsewhere.
  8. Repeat in that sector while it remains useful, or select another Naonite sector if its threat or operation results are unfavorable.

Farming tips

  • Operation area score reflects a tradeoff: faction space may be safer but less productive, while unclaimed space can carry more danger.
  • If a mining operation does not list Naonite, verify the target sector, turret type, selected ore options, and ship’s ability to travel there.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable in sectors where Naonite is available. Remote yields and danger vary with the area and ship setup.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming every sector at a certain radius contains Naonite: verify the galaxy map’s material display for each target.
  • Dispatching a ship that cannot travel to the selected area: issue a move order or pick a reachable sector first.
  • Treating the subsystem as a replacement for a mining turret: the turret performs the mining; the subsystem provides information and operation benefits.

When to stop or switch

Stop after you have enough refined Naonite for the intended construction or upgrade. Move on when the next required material appears in reachable sectors and the ship can handle the added risk.
