WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Bone Head’s camp in the Arid Badlands, reached by tracking Bone Head’s Theft or returning after completing it.
Bone Head in the Arid Badlands is a named source for the Bone Shredder SMG. In Game of the Year Enhanced, he respawns during and after the side mission Bone Head’s Theft, allowing repeat attempts at the weapon. The SMG’s level and parts can vary, so inspect each drop and compare it with your current gear. This is a targeted route for the Bone Shredder, rather than a general loot run.
Reach the Arid Badlands and unlock Bone Head’s Theft.
Bring a loadout suited to Bone Head and the surrounding bandits.
Play Game of the Year Enhanced, where Bone Head is recorded as respawning during and after this mission.
Accept or track Bone Head’s Theft, then travel to the Arid Badlands.
Follow the mission waypoint to Bone Head’s camp.
Clear nearby bandits that interfere with the encounter, then defeat Bone Head.
Inspect the loot for the Bone Shredder and compare its level and parts with your current weapon.
Keep a useful roll; sell or discard equipment you do not need.
If you want another attempt, save and quit to the title screen, reload, and return to the camp.
Defeat Bone Head again and check the drops before deciding whether to repeat.
Farming tips
The Bone Shredder is Bone Head’s dedicated drop, but its parts and quality can vary; assess each copy on its own.
The documented respawn behavior applies to Game of the Year Enhanced; do not assume it works the same way in the original release.
Repeat, collect and use
Save and quit, reload, and return to Bone Head’s camp for another attempt while you want another roll. In Enhanced, he is recorded as respawning during and after Bone Head’s Theft.
Common mistakes
Do not confuse this Borderlands 1 enemy with Bone Head 2.0 from Borderlands 2.
Do not assume each weapon has identical level or parts; inspect every drop.
Do not leave the camp without checking the loot pile for the SMG.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have a Bone Shredder that suits your build, or when the repeated trip no longer feels worthwhile.
