Understand the separate costs of costume potential upgrades so limited Tears go to a chosen skill upgrade and crystals support reachable nodes.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Companion > select a character > costume > Upgrade/Potential. Elemental Crystals come from the matching Elemental Cave in Path of Adventure.
Costume potential combines repeatable elemental crystal gathering with a scarce upgrade material. The Potential page shows the path between nodes and the cost of each; most later nodes require gold and Magic Crystals matching the character’s element. Large skill nodes also require a Tear of the Goddess. Tears are described as limited shop or event rewards, so cave runs cannot supply them. Use the page to choose a reachable goal, collect the matching crystals, and leave a skill node until its Tear and prerequisites are ready.
A character costume with potential upgrades available.
Access to Path of Adventure and torches if crystals are needed.
Gold for the selected node costs.
A Tear of the Goddess before unlocking a large skill node.
Open the intended costume’s Potential page and inspect the connected nodes.
Choose the next reachable upgrade and check its displayed cost and prerequisites.
For a standard node, note the character’s element and gather its matching crystals in that Elemental Cave.
If the cave difficulty is not cleared, fight through its encounters and defeat the boss; a cleared difficulty can be auto-run from the field menu.
Spend torches on crystal runs, then return to the Potential page and unlock the planned node when its costs are met.
For a large skill node, confirm the Tear is in inventory and its preceding nodes are unlocked before spending resources.
Review the character’s bonded costume if the goal includes bonding stats, which depend on the selected costume.
Farming tips
Prioritize upgrades for a character you use; crystals and torches are limited resources.
Treat Tears as a separate planning constraint: the cited sources identify shop and event availability, not a repeatable cave route.
Repeat, collect and use
Crystal collection repeats using torches, and auto-runs become available for each cave difficulty after its boss is cleared. Tears are limited shop or event rewards, not a repeatable cave farm. Potential nodes are unlocked as their displayed costs and path requirements allow.
Common mistakes
Running a cave for the wrong element: check the character’s element and node requirements first.
Expecting cave runs to provide Tears: reserve a Tear from an available shop or event source for the intended skill node.
Trying to unlock a disconnected node: follow the page’s prerequisite path and budget each required node.
When to stop or switch
Stop crystal runs when the chosen reachable nodes are funded. If the next goal is a skill node and no Tear is available, pause that plan and spend torches on another needed element or account target.
