Stone and Limestone

Stone and limestone supply different construction and production needs. Mining the correct deposit and keeping the outputs identifiable protects the materials needed by downstream buildings.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Surface stone or limestone deposit tiles within a Mine Control Tower’s control area.

Use tower mining to designate a visible stone or limestone deposit, haul the material to a suitable buffer and connect it to the process or construction chain that consumes it. Check the destination’s accepted material and capacity before increasing excavation.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Vehicles & Mining research and a Mine Control Tower.
  • An excavator and truck assigned to the tower.
  • A reachable buffer or downstream destination with room for the selected material.
  1. Identify whether the current need is stone or limestone and locate the matching visible deposit.
  2. Place a tower so the chosen deposit lies inside its control area.
  3. Designate the correct resource tiles and assign an excavator and truck.
  4. Set the excavator’s material preference when mixed material is present in the area.
  5. Route truck output to a suitable, clearly identified storage or processing intake.
  6. Confirm the destination accepts the material, has capacity and is reachable by trucks.
  7. Check the downstream chain before expanding the designation or adding more vehicles.

Farming tips

  • Keep limestone and general stone in separate destinations when they serve different recipes or construction needs.
  • A full buffer is a destination issue; increasing excavation does not resolve it.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat extraction while the designated deposit has accessible material and the destination can receive it. Resource availability depends on the deposit and scenario settings.

Common mistakes

  • Designating the wrong material for the current consumer: verify whether stone or limestone is needed first.
  • Routing both materials into an ambiguous buffer: separate storage when downstream uses differ.
  • Assuming idle trucks mean the mine needs more vehicles: check coverage, designation, route access and storage capacity.

When to stop or switch

Pause the designation when the selected deposit is depleted, its buffer is full, or the current construction or processing demand has been met.
