WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Basement of the mansion in Majula, with the reset tied to the Far Fire bonfire.
The skeletons in the Majula mansion basement are a limited, guaranteed Human Effigy source tied to Bonfire Ascetics. Burning an Ascetic at the Far Fire in Majula restores the skeletons; each available skeleton drops an Effigy, with the total increasing up to eight as the bonfire reaches intensity 8. This makes the route more predictable than random enemy drops, but each reset permanently strengthens the area and the skeletons become dangerous. Clear the basement only when prepared, collect every Effigy, and use them from inventory to reverse hollowing or keep them for later. Do not expect the skeletons to respawn from ordinary resting.
Reach Majula and open access to the mansion basement.
Have a Bonfire Ascetic for each reset you plan to use.
A weapon and defenses suitable for multiple skeleton enemies.
Enter the mansion and go down to the basement to check whether skeletons remain from the current cycle.
Defeat the available skeletons one at a time and collect the guaranteed Human Effigy from each.
Return to the Far Fire and check its current intensity before deciding on another reset.
Burn one Ascetic there only if you accept the permanent increase in Majula’s local intensity.
Return to the basement and clear the newly restored skeletons, collecting each Effigy.
Repeat only until the desired stock is reached; later intensity levels add skeletons up to the limit of eight.
Use Effigies from inventory when you need to reverse hollowing, or retain them for planned use.
Farming tips
At higher intensity, the basement can contain multiple skeletons; lure and separate them instead of fighting surrounded.
This is a limited reset route, not an ordinary rest loop; preserve Ascetics for the number of cycles you can handle.
Repeat, collect and use
Skeletons do not respawn from resting. Ascetics at Far Fire restore them, with the total reaching a maximum of eight by intensity 8; each use permanently raises intensity.
Common mistakes
Resting repeatedly and expecting the skeletons to return; use an Ascetic at Far Fire for a reset.
Burning Ascetics without checking the current intensity; stronger skeletons and future cycles make each reset more costly.
Entering the basement while several skeletons are active and fighting the group at once; separate them and collect drops as you clear.
When to stop or switch
Stop once your Effigy reserve is sufficient or when the next intensity makes the basement too dangerous for the guaranteed reward.
