Onslaught is a useful farm when its current activity panel lists the weapon, gear, or other reward you want. Reward structures have changed across updates, so use the live Director or Portal display to choose the version that matches your target. Complete the defense activity and claim the rewards shown for that version. This article covers the activity reward loop: select its current node, complete the run, collect the eligible payout, then decide whether another run still matches your goal. Do not assume that every version uses the same chest layout or payout; the current activity display is the basis for the route.

How to farm

Before you go

Access to the Onslaught activity version listing your target reward.
A solo loadout or fireteam suited to its displayed difficulty.
Time to complete the selected activity’s defense and final segment.

Open the Director or Portal and select an available Onslaught node.
Inspect its reward preview for your desired item or payout.
Choose a difficulty your group can complete based on the displayed options.
Launch Onslaught and complete its defense waves and objectives.
Finish the activity’s final segment and collect the displayed completion reward.
Check Inventory and reward details before another run.

Farming tips

Mid-activity chests may appear in some versions; collect them when present and confirm completion rewards separately.
Recheck the preview when the activity changes, since its reward pool can be revised.

Repeat, collect and use

Onslaught runs are repeatable while the activity is available; rewards and chest eligibility depend on the current version’s rules.

Common mistakes

Choosing a version whose pool lacks your target; inspect its panel first.
Assuming every version has the same chests or payouts; follow the current display.
Leaving before the final reward; complete the last segment and check the result.

When to stop or switch
