Infernal Compasses

Infernal Compasses open wave-based Hordes and set the run’s wave opportunity and reward cycle.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Infernal Hordes entered using a Compass from your endgame inventory and activity interface.

A Compass is consumed to enter a timed Infernal Horde. During the run, offers can affect later waves, so consider how each choice will shape the rest of the activity. Longer Compasses offer additional opportunities to gather Burning Aether, but select a run your build can finish. After the final encounter, the reward chest converts that run’s Aether into a chosen payout.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Infernal Hordes unlocked and an Infernal Compass available.
  • A character able to clear timed waves at the Compass difficulty.
  • A reward goal such as equipment, materials or a special encounter.
  1. Inspect the available Compass and note its wave set before using it.
  2. Enter the Horde and fight through the timed waves.
  3. Read each Infernal Offer and consider its effect on later waves.
  4. Move between enemies and Aether Events to collect Burning Aether before each wave ends.
  5. Complete the final encounter available to the run.
  6. At the reward chest, spend the accumulated Aether on the Spoils that fit your goal.

Farming tips

  • Longer Compasses offer more Aether collection opportunities, but require a longer successful run.
  • Balance area damage, movement and single-target damage for waves and the final encounter.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat with another Compass while Hordes fit your goal and you have entry items. Each Compass is consumed on entry; assess its wave set and your build each time.

Common mistakes

  • Entering without a reward goal: decide which Spoils matter before collecting Aether.
  • Choosing an offer for its immediate effect alone: account for how it affects the remaining waves.
  • Taking a run your build cannot finish: choose a more manageable Compass until clears are reliable.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you obtain the target payout or special encounter, or when your Compass supply or build makes another run a poor fit.
