Pawns with relevant quest knowledge can offer guidance to a cave or chest route. Use that guidance to reduce backtracking, but verify the actual item target before setting out: pawn knowledge helps navigation and does not guarantee that a particular chest contains a Ferrystone. Collect the item directly and record one-time pickups as complete.
Before you go Hire or summon a pawn with relevant quest knowledge. Have a specific cave or chest target in mind. Bring a party suitable for the route’s enemies. Check a pawn’s quest knowledge when hiring or reviewing your party. Choose a pawn whose knowledge names the cave or route you intend to visit. Ask for guidance once you are ready to travel, and follow the route toward the named destination. Confirm the target is the cave or chest you intended to reach; change plans if the pawn is guiding elsewhere. Search the specified chest or ground pickup yourself and collect the item. Mark fixed loot as collected so you do not mistake pawn guidance for a repeatable farm. Farming tips Use pawn guidance to navigate, then verify the target against the known item location. A pawn’s route knowledge does not change loot rules or guarantee a Ferrystone drop. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable as a navigation aid whenever you hire knowledgeable pawns, but each fixed chest reward is collected once.
Common mistakes Assuming a pawn’s offer guarantees the requested item; confirm the destination and loot target. Following a generic cave route without checking the specific chest; keep the intended pickup in view. Returning to an emptied chest because a pawn can guide there again; guidance does not respawn loot. When to stop or switch Stop following the route after collecting the target item or confirming that the pawn’s destination is not the cave you need.
