Where to farm

Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace, Mohgwyn Palace. The grace overlooks the Albinaurics and the large bird across the ravine.

Palace Approach Ledge-Road offers two ways to turn a short ride or clear into runes: lure the large bird across the ravine with a ranged hit, or clear the Albinaurics on the slope. The bird is the lower-combat option; the Albinaurics suit a character who can defeat groups quickly. This is a base-game location and access is progression-gated, though the route remains available in a playthrough that also owns Shadow of the Erdtree.

How to farm

Before you go

Reach Mohgwyn Palace through Varre’s quest or the later Consecrated Snowfield portal.
Bring a bow or crossbow and ammunition for the bird route, or a reliable area attack for the Albinaurics.
Have enough damage and healing to handle the slope safely if using the enemy-clear route.

Activate Palace Approach Ledge-Road and rest there so nearby enemies are reset.
For the bird loop, face the ravine and find the large bird across from the ledge.
Hit it with one ranged attack to draw its attention toward you.
Stay on the ledge as it charges; collect the runes once it falls, without riding down after it.
For the Albinauric loop, ride or walk onto the slope and clear only the enemies your build can handle reliably.
Return to the grace and rest to respawn enemies; choose either method again.

Farming tips

The bird route needs little combat; a bow, crossbow, or other ranged hit can draw it in.
The Albinaurics may be faster for a high-level character with a strong wide-area skill, but use the bird if the group threatens your runes.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the bird lure or Albinauric clear, then rest at the grace to reset. The enemies respawn; stop when you have enough for the next level or purchase.

Common mistakes

Treating Mohgwyn Palace as an early route: use a reachable local enemy group until you unlock access.
Chasing the bird down the slope: stay by the grace and let the fall resolve; riding after it risks a death for no useful gain.
Clearing more Albinaurics than you can safely handle: shorten the route to the enemies your build kills consistently.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the next level or planned purchase is funded, or switch to the lower-risk bird loop if group clears are costing more runes than they earn.
