WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A settlement workshop or crafting interface that allows the selected gear to be scrapped.
Scrapping surplus gear can recover components, but each item returns materials according to its own composition. It is a general component recovery loop, not a reliable adhesive farm by itself. Use it after sorting out unique and legendary equipment, and compare the recovered materials with the caps you might earn by selling. For adhesive specifically, vegetable starch and adhesive-containing junk are more direct targets.
Surplus weapons or armor you no longer need to equip or sell.
Access to a workshop or applicable scrapping interaction.
A check of item value and component yield before processing.
Review collected gear and mark unique or useful legendary pieces to keep.
Separate ordinary items that may be worth selling from true surplus.
Inspect component information for a surplus item before scrapping it.
Move eligible gear to the workshop if the interface requires it.
Scrap the selected item through the available workshop interaction.
Check your component inventory to see which materials were recovered.
Use the stock for a planned crafting job, or keep it stored until you know what you need.
Farming tips
Keep unique and legendary equipment intact unless you have decided you do not want it.
Check material stock before a buying trip; scraps from several items can cover a component need.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever you acquire more surplus equipment. This is a limited salvage loop tied to loot, with no fixed component yield or recurring spawn guarantee.
Common mistakes
Assuming every weapon or armor piece returns adhesive is incorrect; inspect its components and use starch or junk for adhesive.
Scrapping valuable gear without checking its sale or equipment value can waste a better use; compare before processing.
Processing all loot immediately can destroy an item you later want; sort and reserve first.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the needed components or when remaining items have greater sale or equipment value; use vegetable starch for a predictable adhesive recipe.
