WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A settlement workshop or armor workbench where eligible gear can be scrapped or processed.
Some armor pieces can yield adhesive or other components when broken down, but this is item-dependent. Inspect what a piece returns before using it as a material source. This method is best for surplus gear gathered during exploration, not as a guaranteed adhesive farm. Protect unique and legendary equipment, and use vegetable starch or adhesive junk when you need a more direct supply.
Unwanted armor pieces with a component yield worth recovering.
Access to the appropriate workshop or crafting interface.
A check of your inventory to identify unique or legendary pieces to keep.
Sort collected armor into equipment to keep, gear to sell, and true surplus.
Inspect the component information for each surplus piece before scrapping it.
Set aside any item with a useful legendary effect or unique value.
Move only eligible surplus armor to the settlement workshop if needed.
Scrap the selected pieces through the available workshop or crafting interaction.
Check your component inventory to see what was actually recovered.
Use recovered adhesive on the mod you planned, and store other components for future crafting.
Farming tips
Scrapping gear returns components according to the item; do not assume every armor piece contains adhesive.
Check component stock before buying materials, since salvage from several items may already cover the shortfall.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat when you collect more unwanted armor. This is a limited salvage loop tied to loot gathered, not a renewable output with a fixed yield.
Common mistakes
Scrapping a legendary or unique piece can destroy equipment you may want later; reserve those before processing.
Expecting all armor to provide adhesive is unreliable; inspect each item's components first.
Scrapping gear without checking workshop access or inventory can leave the materials unavailable for the intended job; verify the recovered stock afterward.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the needed component is recovered or when remaining armor is worth more intact or as vendor stock; switch to starch or junk for adhesive.
