WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A compatible Weapons or Armor workbench; inspect learned recipes separately at a Tinker’s workbench.

Scrapping a Legendary item at the matching Weapons or Armor workbench always returns Legendary Scrip, while a loose mod or learned recipe is a chance outcome. This makes scrapping useful when you want both currency and a shot at progressing a specific effect. It consumes the item, so sort gear carefully first. Exchanging an item at a Legendary Exchange machine is a separate process and does not perform the same mod-learning roll.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • An unwanted Legendary weapon or armor piece with an effect you want to pursue.
  • A workbench compatible with the item type.
  • Inventory space for Scrip or a loose mod outcome.
  1. Review the item and confirm you do not want to keep, trade, or sell it.
  2. At the appropriate Weapons or Armor workbench, choose the scrapping action for that item.
  3. Confirm the item is the intended one before finalizing; scrapping consumes it.
  4. Collect the returned Legendary Scrip.
  5. Check inventory for a loose Legendary Mod and the crafting menus for a newly learned recipe.
  6. If a loose mod appeared, attach it at a Weapons or Armor workbench by paying the displayed Scrip cost.
  7. If a recipe was learned, use the Tinker’s workbench to craft it with the listed Modules and other materials.

Farming tips

  • Scrap items carrying the effect you want to pursue; the chance outcome is tied to the scrapped gear.
  • Keep scrapping distinct from Legendary Exchange, which is for exchanging gear and does not produce the same learning attempt.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat with additional unwanted Legendary items; each item is consumed and each mod or recipe outcome remains chance-based.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting every scrap to teach an effect; only the Scrip return is guaranteed.
  • Using the Exchange machine when trying to learn a mod; use the matching workbench scrap action.
  • Scrapping an item before checking its value or whether you want to keep it; sort first.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the effect is learned, your Scrip goal is met, or you no longer have suitable unwanted items.
