WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Weapons or Armor workbench → Modify; learned Legendary recipes are crafted at a Tinker’s workbench.
Fallout 76 has two distinct ways to apply a Legendary effect. A loose mod is attached at a Weapons or Armor workbench by spending Legendary Scrip; a learned recipe is crafted at the Tinker’s workbench with Legendary Modules and other listed materials. The workbench menu shows eligibility and cost before confirmation. Check the effect and item tier carefully before committing currency or crafting components.
Before you go A compatible Legendary item and the desired loose mod, or an already learned recipe. Enough Legendary Scrip for a loose mod; the listed cost is 50 for one to three stars and 100 for four stars. For recipe crafting, the required Modules and other components shown at the Tinker’s workbench. Sort the item and confirm the mod is compatible with its type and effect slot. For a loose mod, open Modify at the matching Weapons or Armor workbench. Select the target item and desired loose mod; read the displayed Scrip cost before confirming. Pay the cost and verify the resulting effect on the item. For a learned effect instead, open the Tinker’s workbench and locate its recipe. Review the Modules and other material costs, then craft only if the output matches your target. Inspect the finished item in inventory to confirm the change. Farming tips Use the live workbench menu as the eligibility check; incompatible combinations will not be valid selections. Keep loose-mod attachment and recipe crafting separate in your budget: one spends Scrip, the other Modules and materials. Repeat, collect and use Repeat for each compatible item and mod; each attachment or crafted mod consumes the displayed currency and components.
Common mistakes Assuming Modules attach a loose mod; loose mods require Scrip at Weapons or Armor workbenches. Expecting Scrip to craft a learned recipe; recipe crafting uses Modules and other materials at the Tinker’s bench. Confirming before checking star tier and cost; read the displayed price first. When to stop or switch Stop when the intended effect is installed or when the displayed cost exceeds your available crafting budget.
