Commission a newly placed vein miner with a short, observable first run. This checks the machine’s orientation, high-voltage connection, and conveyor handoff before you depend on the site for ongoing ore supply.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At an exposed underground ore-vein drill point, with the miner’s conveyor outlet and first receiving point in view.
Use this setup check when bringing a vein miner online for the first time or after moving its output route. The goal is to confirm that ore leaves the drill point and reaches a receiver you can inspect, then keep that route available for collection and processing.
Underground Mining research and a vein miner placed at a valid drill point
The drill point cleared at its required elevation, with the miner facing it correctly
High-voltage grid power connected to the miner
Conveyors and a receiver such as an accessible storage point
Expose the drill point and verify that the miner’s placement indicator accepts the location.
Check that the miner faces the cleared drill point; correct its orientation before wiring the line.
Connect the miner to the high-voltage grid and make sure the connection reaches the machine.
Place a short conveyor from the miner’s ore outlet to one accessible receiver.
Start the miner and watch the outlet for ore entering the conveyor.
Follow the short route and confirm that ore arrives in the receiver rather than stopping on the belt.
Once delivery is confirmed, extend the route toward your ore buffer or matching smelting line, keeping the receiver accessible for inspection.
Farming tips
Test with one miner and one receiver first; this makes a placement or handoff issue easier to identify.
Keep the first conveyor section visible so you can quickly check whether ore is leaving the machine.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a commissioning check, not a separate resource farm. Ore collection continues while the miner has power and the conveyor can deliver it; empty or make room in the receiver, then send collected ore to the appropriate processing line.
Common mistakes
Treating a valid-looking belt as proof of power: verify the high-voltage connection at the miner.
Troubleshooting the entire route before checking the miner’s orientation: first confirm the machine faces the cleared drill point.
Leaving the receiver full: restore receiving capacity so ore can continue to arrive.
When to stop or switch
Finish commissioning when ore reaches the receiver reliably. If delivery stops, pause expansion and inspect the miner connection, outlet, conveyor, and receiver in that order.
