Commission a new pump line by verifying that its source, pipe connections, and intended consumer work together. A short initial check can catch a failed connection before the route is extended or hidden.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At an exposed water source and its pump, following the pipe route to the selected fluid-consuming machine.
This is a startup and collection check for a pump-based water line. Use it when a water source and consumer are already chosen; the aim is to confirm delivery and keep the water route available to the process that needs it.
An exposed water source with room to access the pump
A water pump and pipes available in the current build
A selected production machine whose current interface shows a water input
Access to inspect the pump, pipe connections, and consumer
Check the selected machine’s current inputs and confirm that it requires water.
Expose the source enough to place and inspect the pump without blocking access to it.
Place the pump at the water source using the valid placement indication in the game.
Route a short section of pipe from the pump toward the intended consumer.
Connect the pipe to the consumer’s fluid input using the available equipment.
Inspect the pump, each connection, and the consumer interface to check that the route is ready to supply the process.
Run the consumer and confirm it receives water before extending or covering the pipe route.
Keep the pump and endpoint reachable, and extend the line only when the checked section is delivering.
Farming tips
Commission the route while its connections are visible so a failed handoff is easier to locate.
Keep access around the pump and consumer inlet for later checks and repairs.
Repeat, collect and use
This is an ongoing supply loop while the source, pump, pipe route, and consumer remain connected and usable. The water is delivered to the process rather than collected as a separate solid stock; repeat commissioning for another consumer or a rebuilt route.
Common mistakes
Choosing a consumer without checking its current inputs: confirm it uses water before routing pipes.
Covering the route before testing it: verify delivery at the consumer first.
Assuming connected-looking pipes guarantee supply: inspect the pump and endpoint if the process stops receiving water.
When to stop or switch
Finish commissioning when the consumer receives water and the process can use it. If delivery fails, pause expansion and check the source, pump, pipe connections, and consumer inlet.
