Where to farm
Treasure Trove locations throughout campaign areas in Ascendant Mode. Frostveil Highlands also contains newer points of interest, but no fixed trove route or spawn rate is established here.
In Ascendant Mode, a Treasure Trove can upgrade into a Resplendent Trove. The upgrade is chance-based, so the practical method is to search areas you can clear safely, open the troves you find, and collect the improved chest’s loot. In the current 1.3.1-era patch, a Legendary armor set is exclusive to Resplendent Treasure Troves on any difficulty. Resplendent Troves can also drop Celestial Essence, but neither reward is assured on an individual opening.
Fangs of Asterkarn and access to Ascendant Mode for the upgraded trove mechanic.
A level 100 character on Ultimate to toggle Ascendant Mode.
A build able to handle upgraded encounters and any enemies that guard the chest.
Enable Ascendant Mode from the main menu with an eligible character.
Choose a campaign area you can traverse without prolonged danger.
Explore the area for Treasure Troves, clearing nearby threats before interacting.
Check whether each Treasure Trove has upgraded into a Resplendent Trove.
Open the chest and gather its drops, including any set pieces, equipment, or Celestial Essence.
Compare equipment against your build and keep useful items; store or process the rest.
Move to another area you can clear, or end the session when the available troves are exhausted.
Farming tips
Loot every trove you find; the upgrade is random, and no fixed spawn rate is established.
Keep Ascendant difficulty manageable. A chest’s better potential reward is not useful if its encounter cost overwhelms your build.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat by exploring other campaign areas or revisiting the activity in a later session. Individual troves are not guaranteed to upgrade, and the Legendary set or Celestial Essence is not a guaranteed drop.
Common mistakes
Treating each Treasure Trove as a Resplendent one: inspect the chest and collect the upgrade only when it appears.
Expecting Celestial Essence or the exclusive set every time: both are chance-based rewards.
Searching only Frostveil Highlands: the mechanic applies to Treasure Troves across Ascendant Mode zones.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the set piece or material quantity you need, or when an area has no more reachable troves; switch to another safe campaign activity if the search becomes inefficient.
