Corestone is the material target for Tier 3 machinery; Icehelm’s sideways mine exposes the Tier 2 and Tier 3 dirt needed to obtain it.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Icehelm’s underground claim behind the sign opposite the entry doors; its small water pool sits beside the wide surface input conveyor, while the mine extends horizontally into the wall.
Use the Icehelm claim when you are ready to move beyond the starter plot and need Corestone for Tier 3 machinery. Corestone occurs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 dirt, while the Ember Cradle starter claim is limited to Tier 1 for automated mining. Icehelm is the unusual site: its dirt tiers progress horizontally into the wall, with Tier 1 near the entrance and the richer higher-tier soil farther back. A Tier 2 or Tier 3 drill and matching harvester must work in the relevant dirt tier; simply buying advanced equipment or placing a drill in the front chamber will not produce Corestone. Mine carefully into the back wall, confirm the dirt tier with the tool your setup can use, and keep the drill base within the intended tier before adding the water line. Corestone nuggets can be melted in a Crucible and molded into bars; reserve that output for the Tier 3 machine plan before selling any surplus.
Access to Icehelm and its mining claim; the starter Ember Cradle does not provide automated Corestone from Tier 1 dirt.
Tier 2 or Tier 3 drill and a harvester of compatible tier for the dirt being mined.
Water supply, pipes, and room to smelt and mold Corestone bars.
Enter Icehelm and find the mining-claim sign behind the central structure, opposite the doorways; the claim runs into the wall rather than straight down.
Locate the small pool beside the wide conveyor that carries items to the surface; use this as the claim’s water source.
Treat the front of the claim as Tier 1 and plan the tunnel farther into the wall before installing a Corestone line.
Advance into higher-tier soil with equipment capable of working the tier you are entering, keeping the access route wide enough to service the drill.
Confirm that the drill is positioned in Tier 2 or Tier 3 dirt and is compatible with that tier before connecting the harvester.
Connect and test the water supply, then run a small batch to verify the drill is feeding the harvester and material is being processed.
Collect Corestone Ore from the output and keep it separate from Iron, Gold, Cloutium, and gems so the scarce upgrade material is not sold accidentally.
Load Corestone Ore into a Crucible, melt it, and use a Casting Mold to form Corestone Bars for the planned Tier 3 machine recipe.
Farming tips
Icehelm’s tier layout runs toward the back wall, not down from the entrance floor.
Corestone is rare even in eligible dirt; do not assume a short test batch proves the setup is broken if the output has not appeared yet.
The Corestone item entry lists the Jeweller as a sale outlet, but bars are needed for machine upgrades, so reserve material first.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the tier-compatible drilling and smelting loop until the current Tier 3 machine plan has enough Corestone Bars. Corestone is rare and no fixed output rate is assumed.
Common mistakes
Running a drill in Icehelm’s front Tier 1 area while expecting automated Corestone.
Using a drill or harvester that cannot work the soil tier where the setup is placed.
Digging straight down at Icehelm instead of progressing horizontally into its higher-tier dirt.
Selling raw Corestone before checking the Tier 3 machine materials needed at Icehelm.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the current Tier 3 machinery recipe is supplied or when the drill and harvester are no longer operating in their matching soil tier; correct the site before restarting.
