A tier-matched, water-fed drill replaces repeated hand digging with ongoing dirt production for a harvester and sorting line.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At your claim, over exposed dirt that matches the drill’s tier, with a nearby harvester and water supply.
Automate a claim by placing a drill directly over dirt it can process, then route its output into a working harvester. Dirt quality is tied to the drill’s position, so moving richer dirt upward does not make it richer for a machine. Begin with one drill and a simple line; confirm that the full chain works before adding more equipment.
Water intake and pipe connection for the equipment.
Harvester and a clear output route.
Dig an accessible pit and expose the dirt layer you intend to mine.
Check the layer and select a drill designed for that tier.
Place the drill at the deepest usable point within its matching tier, directly over the dirt.
Connect water, switch the drill on, and watch for dirt output.
Aim the output into the harvester and verify that it receives the material.
Run the line briefly and check that processing and collection are both working before expanding.
Farming tips
The drill position establishes the dirt tier; transported dirt does not keep a higher tier after relocation.
Leave room around the machine for maintenance, spilled material, and a future belt route.
Repeat, collect and use
Once installed, the drill repeatedly produces dirt while it has suitable ground, water, and a clear route to processing. Collect sorted output as needed and stop the machine when the line needs clearing.
Common mistakes
Using the wrong drill tier: match the machine to the dirt where it stands.
Placing the drill without dirt directly beneath it: expose the layer and verify its position.
Letting dirt miss the harvester: adjust the chute and test the feed before leaving the system running.
When to stop or switch
Pause or reposition the drill when it no longer processes suitable dirt, loses water, or feeds a backed-up harvester; resume after fixing the cause.
