A dependable water line lets drills, harvesters, and sprinklers perform their jobs; testing branches before expansion makes faults easier to find.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
From a water intake at your claim’s source through pipes to drills, harvesters, or crop sprinklers.
Build a water network from the source to one machine, test it, then add consumers one at a time. A connected pipe is not proof that the machine is receiving usable flow: check the affected machine and pressure along the branch, especially at its far end. Keeping the system simple while commissioning it helps isolate weak flow or a bad connection.
A pressure gauge or machine indicator you can inspect.
Place the intake at the water source and connect a short pipe run to one intended machine.
Check that the connection is secure and the machine responds when the line is active.
Inspect pressure along the branch, including the farthest connected section.
If flow is poor, simplify the route and remove unnecessary turns or branches.
Test the machine again before extending the main line to another consumer.
Add one branch at a time and recheck the original machine as well as the new endpoint.
Farming tips
Commission the drill or harvester on a simple branch first; a complex network makes faults harder to locate.
For crop watering, verify pressure at the farthest sprinkler rather than only near the intake.
Repeat, collect and use
Water networks are persistent infrastructure rather than a consumable farm. Recheck the line after adding machines or changing pipe routes, then repair or simplify the affected branch.
Common mistakes
Assuming every connected branch has adequate flow: inspect the far endpoint and the machine itself.
Adding multiple consumers before testing: connect and verify one at a time.
Leaving a weak line unchanged: remove unnecessary routing complexity, then retest.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding branches once every intended machine receives adequate water and operates consistently; revisit the network only when a new consumer or symptom appears.
