Water-powered processing

Harvester and Sorting

A harvester processes drill dirt into collectible resources; a clear collection layout keeps ore and gems from becoming a spill-prone mixed pile.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

At the output end of a drill on your claim, with open space for belts and catch containers.

The harvester is the central processing step between drill output and resource storage. Feed it dirt and water, then observe how valuable output leaves before committing to a longer conveyor layout. Sort or catch the output in separate places so you can collect it, carry it to town, and decide whether to sell or smelt each resource.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Drill producing dirt and a water-fed harvester.
  • Conveyor or accessible hand-collection area.
  • Separate bins or catch points for ore and gems.
  1. Place the harvester where drill dirt can enter its input without falling short.
  2. Connect the harvester to the water system and check that it operates.
  3. Run a small amount of dirt through the machine while watching the output.
  4. Add a conveyor or position containers where the valuable materials land.
  5. Separate gems and ore into distinct catch points using the available sorting arrangement.
  6. Collect each batch from its container, then take it to town for sale or to a furnace if you need bars.
  7. Clear loose material and check for jams before leaving the system running.

Farming tips

  • Keep the area beside and beneath the harvester accessible so you can retrieve spills.
  • Build and test the output route in short sections; this makes misplaced collection points easier to correct.

Repeat, collect and use

The drill-harvester-sorting loop can run continuously while its input, water, and output route remain clear. Empty catch points, collect the resources, and sell or process each batch before continuing.

Common mistakes

  • Sending dirt past the harvester input: align the drill chute and verify the feed.
  • Leaving output uncontained: add bins or a collection surface before longer runs.
  • Ignoring a jam or spill: stop the line, clear material, and confirm the route before restarting.

When to stop or switch

Stop production when a bin fills, output spills, or processing stops; clear and inspect the affected section before restarting the drill.
