WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Your farm mounds at the Outset Grasslands homestead.

Wheat is a useful starter crop because harvested plants return ordinary Wheat Seeds. Its mound condition determines whether you get the standard crop or pursue a high-yield or mutated result. Treat this as a Wheat-specific planting cycle; other crops use their own soil pairings.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Wheat Seeds and a prepared mound.
  • Water for the growing crop.
  • Phosphoric or Potassic Fertilizer only if pursuing a high-yield or mutated harvest.
  1. Choose a mound near your farm storage and check its current soil condition before planting.
  2. Plant Wheat Seeds. For ordinary Wheat, use Nitrogenic soil; Phosphoric soil gives a high-yield result, while Potassic soil is the Wheat mutation condition.
  3. Water the mound with your available farming tools and allow the crop to mature.
  4. Harvest the mature Wheat and collect both the crop and the returned ordinary seeds.
  5. Sort seeds from produce before using either for another planting or a delivery.
  6. If you want to change the result next cycle, change the mound soil before planting again.

Farming tips

  • Keep at least some Wheat Seeds aside before sending crop stock to the Resource Delivery Cannon.
  • Test a single mound when changing soil; that makes it easy to spot an incorrect condition before expanding.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the plant, water, mature, harvest, and seed-reserve cycle as long as you have seeds and a use for Wheat. Harvested Wheat returns ordinary seeds, so the crop can sustain further planting.

Common mistakes

  • Planting Wheat in the wrong soil for the intended result: check the mound condition before sowing.
  • Sending all seeds in a delivery: hold back a reserve so the field does not depend on finding more seeds.
  • Treating Wheat’s soil pairings as universal: use the matching crop’s own condition when growing other plants.

When to stop or switch

Stop once you have the Wheat and seed reserve needed for the current delivery or farm plan; switch the mound to another crop’s soil pairing when your next goal changes.
