Where to farm
Anomaly Investigations posted at the Quest Counter after unlocking the Anomaly Research Lab.
Build Research Points by completing Anomaly Investigations, then claim the progress that raises your Anomaly Research Level. Keep the Investigation level distinct from your Research Level: one belongs to an individual quest, while the other tracks overall research progression. Choose a hunt you can complete efficiently and check the board as your level unlocks additional options.
Sunbreak postgame progression sufficient to unlock the Anomaly Research Lab.
An available Anomaly Investigation.
Equipment and supplies appropriate for the selected monster and investigation conditions.
Open the Investigation list and note your current Anomaly Research Level.
Choose an Investigation near your current capability and review its level and quest conditions.
Post the quest and complete the hunt, collecting drops and finishing the objective.
Claim the results so the Investigation’s Research Points count toward progression.
Check the Research Level display and note any newly available Investigations or systems.
Select the next quest based on the unlock you want, while keeping its Investigation level separate from your Research Level.
Repeat the completion and claim cycle until the desired research unlock appears.
Farming tips
Research Points vary with Investigation level and quest details, so compare available quests rather than assuming every run advances equally.
Ordinary Anomaly Quests can help with hunts but award fewer Research Points than Investigations.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Investigations as often as needed; Research Points and Research Level progression are ongoing systems.
Common mistakes
Confusing the quest’s Investigation level with your overall Research Level: inspect each value separately.
Expecting a normal Anomaly Quest to provide the same Research progress as an Investigation: use Investigations for this loop.
Leaving before claiming quest results: complete the hunt and take the reward screen so progress can register.
When to stop or switch
Stop the focused leveling loop when you reach the Research Level required for your target unlock; then hunt the newly available target or shift to material farming.
