Plant Fibre and Animal Hide

Plant Fibre and Hide support clothing, twine, and survival gear. One surface expedition can collect both, provided you bring the correct harvesting tools.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Abeyance Forest Realm surface: fibre-bearing plants and huntable animals along accessible paths.

Pair a Sickle sweep through fibre-bearing plants with selective animal hunts. Use the Hunting Knife on carcasses to collect Hide and other animal materials, then process Hide only when a recipe calls for treated material.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A Sickle suitable for the fibre tier you want.
  • A Hunting Knife suitable for the target animal’s carcass.
  • Combat gear and room in your inventory for mixed materials.
  1. Enter Abeyance and follow accessible surface paths where foliage and animals are visible.
  2. Equip the Sickle and harvest fibre-bearing plants; collect flowers as useful secondary output when needed.
  3. Check your fibre count and avoid harvesting unrelated plants if inventory is tight.
  4. Hunt an animal you can safely defeat and approach its carcass with the Hunting Knife.
  5. Harvest the carcass for Hide, meat, bones, or other available materials.
  6. Return to your estate and sort fibres and animal materials into separate storage.
  7. Take Hide to a Tanning Station only if the recipe requires treated hide; otherwise retain the raw material.

Farming tips

  • Forest foliage is relatively dense, while fibre types vary by biome and tier; use a realm that matches the material you need.
  • The Hunting Knife is the carcass tool for hides, chitin, bones, and meat; the Sickle handles fibre and flowers.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat on another surface pass or realm when more stock is needed. Plants and resource nodes generally do not respawn automatically, and animal carcass yields are limited to the animals you find and defeat.

Common mistakes

  • Using the wrong tool: switch to a Sickle for plants and a Hunting Knife for carcasses.
  • Assuming all fibre is the same tier: check the plant and recipe before a long harvest route.
  • Treating every Hide at once: preserve raw Hide if current recipes request it.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the fibre and Hide required for the next gear or crafting batch; switch biomes or material tiers if your recipe specifies a different fibre.
