WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Buried technology modules on planetary surfaces; spend the collected data at the Construction Research Station on the Space Anomaly.
Find buried technology modules on planets, collect their Salvaged Data, and spend it on construction research you intend to use. This is a finite pickup at each module rather than an automated farm, so gather it while exploring and prioritize useful blueprints over selling the item. The visor marks buried technology once you scan for it.
Terrain Manipulator for excavating buried modules.
Inventory space for Salvaged Data.
Access to the Space Anomaly and its Construction Research Station to spend the output.
On a planet, scan the surface with the Analysis Visor for buried technology module markers.
Follow a marker to its location and check that it identifies a buried technology module.
Use the Terrain Manipulator to excavate the buried object.
Interact with the module and collect its Salvaged Data output.
Repeat for other marked modules encountered on the same trip, keeping an eye on inventory capacity.
Travel to the Space Anomaly and open the Construction Research Station.
Spend the data on base parts you plan to build, retaining enough for later priorities.
Farming tips
Collect modules during planet visits instead of making detours when your immediate goal is unrelated.
Spend data on the rooms and infrastructure you expect to use before unlocking decorative extras.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a repeatable exploration pickup, but each buried module is a one-time collection. Find additional modules elsewhere to gather more Salvaged Data.
Common mistakes
Selling Salvaged Data before buying desired blueprints can delay base progression; reserve it for research first.
Using the Mining Beam instead of excavating with the Terrain Manipulator can fail to reach the buried module; equip the correct tool.
Spending data without checking the blueprint list may unlock parts you do not need yet; choose the intended build plan.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting once you have enough data for the next useful construction unlock; resume when a later base project needs more blueprints.
