WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Yellow Sodium plants and labeled mineral deposits on planetary surfaces.
Use the Analysis Visor to find yellow Sodium plants and marked mineral sources, then collect only what you need for protection and travel. Sodium Nitrate is a refined form, useful when a recipe calls for that tier. Because suitable plants and deposits vary by planet, fold this harvest into the route you are already taking.
Terrain Manipulator if the chosen target is a mineral deposit.
Inventory space for Sodium.
Portable Refiner and fuel if Sodium Nitrate is required.
Scan the surface around your landing area and identify targets labeled Sodium.
Follow the Visor marker to a yellow plant or mineral target and check its prompt.
Harvest a plant by interaction or mine the marked deposit with the appropriate tool.
Check the exosuit stack and collect more nearby targets if a storm or hazardous route is ahead.
Use Sodium to recharge hazard protection when needed.
If a recipe requires Sodium Nitrate, refine the amount of Sodium needed and collect the output.
Farming tips
Keep Sodium in the exosuit rather than relying on supplies stored aboard your ship during a long surface walk.
Refine only the amount needed as Sodium Nitrate so you retain Sodium for direct hazard-protection recharges.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever you find suitable marked plants or deposits. The surface harvest is ongoing, but target availability and spacing vary by world.
Common mistakes
Mining an unmarked yellow object may yield something else; confirm its resource label before harvesting.
Refining the entire stack can remove the direct-use reserve; keep enough Sodium for hazard protection.
Entering a storm with an empty protection reserve makes the trip harder; collect before committing to an exposed route.
When to stop or switch
Stop once protection is charged and your exosuit holds a reasonable reserve for the next hazardous stretch; harvest again when that reserve is depleted.
