A Puft and Algae Distiller chain converts Polluted Oxygen into Slime, then into Algae and Polluted Water.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Use a Polluted Oxygen room suited to the Puft ranch, then place an Algae Distiller where duplicants can deliver Slime and collect its outputs.
Pufts consume Polluted Oxygen and produce Slime. An Algae Distiller processes Slime into Algae and Polluted Water, giving the colony two outputs from a managed critter and machine chain. The system depends on a steady Polluted Oxygen supply and a use or storage plan for both distiller products. It is a conversion loop with inputs and outputs, not a closed system that creates resources without ongoing support.
Critter Ranching skill and appropriate Puft care setup.
Algae Distiller and power.
Storage or destinations for Algae and Polluted Water.
Prepare a room and ranch setup for Pufts, ensuring the environment contains Polluted Oxygen for them to consume.
Assign a duplicant with Critter Ranching and provide the equipment needed to manage the critters.
Monitor the Polluted Oxygen supply; the ranch cannot sustain production if its feed gas runs short.
Collect Slime produced by the Pufts and move it to the Algae Distiller input.
Power the distiller and run Slime through it to produce Algae and Polluted Water.
Route Algae to a use or storage point and send Polluted Water to a sieve or compatible crop.
Check both outputs and adjust Slime delivery or downstream storage so the distiller does not create a backup.
Farming tips
Keep the Polluted Oxygen source and Slime processing capacity in balance; one bottleneck can stop the chain.
Do not assume Polluted Water is germ-free or appropriate for every use; check its destination and sanitation needs.
Repeat, collect and use
The chain repeats while Pufts have Polluted Oxygen, Slime reaches the powered distiller, and Algae and Polluted Water have destinations. Collect both outputs and maintain the ranch and machine inputs.
Common mistakes
Expecting Pufts to produce Slime without Polluted Oxygen; stabilize the gas supply first.
Allowing Slime to accumulate away from the distiller; make sure duplicant delivery and machine access are available.
Ignoring distiller output storage; route Algae and Polluted Water before expanding production.
When to stop or switch
Pause the ranch or distiller if Polluted Oxygen is scarce or either output lacks a useful destination. Resume when the gas supply and storage capacity can support the full chain.
