This loop converts a Water supply into Oxygen and Hydrogen, with the Hydrogen available for power generation.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Run a Water pipe to an Electrolyzer, pump the mixed output through a Gas Filter, send Oxygen to gas distribution, and route filtered Hydrogen to a Hydrogen Generator.
An Electrolyzer consumes Water and produces hot Oxygen and Hydrogen. A Gas Filter can split the mixed output so Oxygen reaches the colony and Hydrogen can be used by a Hydrogen Generator. This is a resource conversion chain, not a closed water cycle: it depends on a continuing Water input and power for its equipment. The Hydrogen Generator also needs a clean Hydrogen stream, because other gases damage it.
Gas Pump and Gas Filter configured for Hydrogen separation.
Hydrogen Generator and a clean Hydrogen pipe if producing power.
Oxygen vents or pipes for distribution to the colony.
Connect Water to the Electrolyzer and verify the machine receives power and liquid.
Collect the mixed output with a Gas Pump placed where the gases can reach it.
Set a Gas Filter to Hydrogen and route the filtered output to a Hydrogen Generator.
Keep non-Hydrogen gas out of the generator pipe; check the filter output and pipe contents during startup.
Route the remaining Oxygen stream to vents or a distribution pipe serving the base.
Monitor heat from the Electrolyzer and keep hot output away from sensitive crops and living spaces.
Track Water reserves and generator operation so the colony can respond before either input runs short.
Farming tips
Do not count Hydrogen power as guaranteed net power without accounting for the pumps, filter, and other connected equipment.
Plan the Water supply first; the chain stops producing both gases when its input is unavailable.
Repeat, collect and use
The conversion repeats while Water and power remain available and gas outputs have somewhere to go. Oxygen is distributed for breathing, and filtered Hydrogen is consumed by the generator; the Water itself is not recovered by this loop.
Common mistakes
Calling the chain water-sustainable; it consumes Water, so secure a continuing supply or treat it as a finite reserve.
Sending mixed gas to the Hydrogen Generator; filter first and keep other gases out of its line.
Ignoring equipment heat and power demand; inspect the operating system as a whole before expanding.
When to stop or switch
Pause or reduce production when the Water reserve is needed elsewhere, gas storage is full, or the equipment’s power and heat costs exceed the colony’s needs. Resume when supply and demand are balanced.
