Coal for Refined Ingots

Coal is a component in refined ingots and later equipment. A base Coal Mine supports recurring supply when unlocked; field deposits provide a targeted haul when you need material sooner.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A Coal Mine at your base or coal deposits in field resource clusters; process coal with the required materials at a furnace.

For field mining, bring a Pal with Mining level 3 or higher, since coal nodes have a higher suitability gate than basic ore. Back at base, keep coal beside ore and use the furnace recipe to process the materials into refined ingots.

Original Palpagos mining clusters: the Chinese source records an Ore + Coal cluster at (191, -37) and Coal sites including (237, -217), (203, -116), and (101, 58). Pickaxe icons represent mixed mineral clusters. This covers the original islands; later expansion regions are outside its scope.

How to farm

Before you go

  • An unlocked Coal Mine, or a pickaxe for field deposits.
  • A Mining Pal with the required suitability; field coal nodes require Mining level 3 or higher.
  • A Transporting Pal and chest for base mine output.
  • A furnace and the current refined ingot recipe.
  1. Check whether Coal Mine construction is available and choose a clear spot with worker access.
  2. Assign a qualified Mining Pal and confirm the mine is active.
  3. Assign a Transporting Pal and make sure it can reach both the mine output and a chest.
  4. For a field run, prepare a Mining level 3 or higher Pal and travel to a reachable coal cluster.
  5. Mine exposed coal with your pickaxe, leaving enough inventory space for the haul home.
  6. Store coal beside ore and keep any coal needed for other recipes separate.
  7. Open the furnace interface and confirm the refined ingot recipe and its other ingredients.
  8. Queue the batch, then collect and store the finished refined ingots for your intended equipment or build.

Farming tips

  • Separate raw coal from ore so you can see which ingredient limits the next furnace batch.
  • If a field node is not being worked, check the Pal’s Mining level before changing your route.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable: staffed base production continues while workers have access and storage has room; revisit field deposits for supplemental supply. Refined ingots are made in consuming furnace batches.

Common mistakes

  • Using a miner below the field requirement: bring Mining level 3 or higher for coal nodes.
  • Treating coal as a finished refined material: check and run the furnace recipe.
  • Using all coal in unrelated crafting: reserve the amount needed for the next planned batch.

When to stop or switch

Switch to another ingredient once stored coal covers your next refined ingot batch and any other recipe you are pursuing.
