Sulfur is an ingredient for Gunpowder, which is used in ammunition crafting. Keep the raw resource available and process only what your current ammunition plan needs.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A Sulfur Mine at your base, exposed sulfur deposits, or sulfur encountered while exploring dungeons; craft Gunpowder and ammunition at the stations shown in-game.
A staffed Sulfur Mine supplies a base reserve, while exposed nodes and dungeon finds can provide a field top-up. The complete route has two crafting stages: sulfur into Gunpowder, then Gunpowder into ammunition. Check both recipes before spending your stock.
Mount Obsidian mining clusters on the January 2024 base map. Source Sulfur clusters include (-595, -523) and (-742, -443); Coal clusters are also marked, so confirm the resource at each icon. This covers the original islands; later expansion regions are outside its scope.
GET STARTED
How to farm
Before you go
An unlocked Sulfur Mine, or a pickaxe for field deposits.
A Mining Pal for the base mine and a Transporting Pal for its output.
Accessible storage for raw sulfur and processed Gunpowder.
The current Gunpowder and ammunition recipes and their other ingredients.
Open the ammunition recipe you want and note how much Gunpowder it needs.
Open the Gunpowder recipe and check its displayed ingredients before collecting sulfur.
Build and staff a Sulfur Mine if available, or prepare for a field deposit run.
For base output, assign Mining and Transporting Pals and check that sulfur reaches a chest.
For field supply, mine exposed sulfur with a pickaxe or collect it when found during dungeon exploration.
Store sulfur separately, then gather the other ingredients needed for Gunpowder.
Craft a batch sized for your ammunition plan and move Gunpowder to the appropriate station.
Craft ammunition, collect it, and leave the mine running or revisit deposits when reserves fall.
Farming tips
The mine reduces dependence on field trips when sulfur demand is steady.
Keep sulfur, Gunpowder, and finished ammunition distinct so you can identify which ingredient limits production.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable: a staffed mine continues producing while workers can access it; field deposits can be mined again when available. Each Gunpowder and ammunition batch consumes ingredients.
Common mistakes
Assuming sulfur directly makes ammunition: craft Gunpowder first, then use the ammunition recipe.
Spending sulfur before checking the Gunpowder recipe: gather the full displayed ingredient list.
Leaving mine output on the ground: check transporter access, storage capacity, and worker assignments.
When to stop or switch
Stop processing when ammunition and Gunpowder cover your expected use; resume when either reserve drops below the next planned batch.
