Ore and Mining Routes

Ore for Ingots

Ore supplies the ingots used in tools, weapons, ammunition, and base upgrades. A base mine can keep raw material coming in, while a furnace turns collected ore into usable ingots.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Ore deposits across Palpagos Islands, or an Ore Mining Site at your base; refine collected ore at a furnace.

Use field deposits for a quick top-up or staff an Ore Mining Site for ongoing production. Mining and transport are separate jobs: the first extracts ore, and the second moves it to storage. Refine the stored ore at a furnace, then reserve the ingots for a specific crafting or construction goal.

Pickaxe icons show mining clusters on the original Plateau of Beginnings. Source coordinates include (9, -528), (71, -405), and (155, -394); verify the material before mining. This covers the original islands; later expansion regions are outside its scope.

How to farm

Before you go

  • A pickaxe for field deposits, or an unlocked Ore Mining Site.
  • A Mining Pal suited to the mine; field ore work requires Mining level 2.
  • A Transporting Pal and accessible storage.
  • A furnace and a suitable Kindling worker if the station requires one.
  1. Choose a base location with space for the mine, storage, and a clear worker path.
  2. Build the Ore Mining Site if available; otherwise prepare to visit a reachable field deposit.
  3. Assign a Mining Pal and check that it can reach and work at the site.
  4. Assign a Transporting Pal and place a chest where it can reach the mine output.
  5. For a manual supply, travel to an ore deposit and mine it with your pickaxe.
  6. Move raw ore to storage beside the furnace and check the current ingot recipe.
  7. Queue the batch and provide any station worker the furnace requires.
  8. Collect the ingots and move them to storage for the planned tool, weapon, ammunition, or building recipe.

Farming tips

  • If ore accumulates at the mine, check transporter access and chest capacity before adding miners.
  • Store raw ore near smelting so the furnace can process it as the mine replenishes stock.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable: keep miners and transporters assigned, empty storage as needed, and smelt batches when ingot stock runs low. Field deposits can supplement the base supply.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting Mining alone to carry output: assign a Transporting Pal and provide reachable storage.
  • Taking a field miner below the node requirement: confirm Mining level 2 suitability before leaving.
  • Queueing ore without checking other furnace needs: inspect the recipe and station requirements first.

When to stop or switch

Pause ore collection when your ingot stock covers the next planned recipes and you have enough raw ore for the next furnace batch.
