WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Large islands are capture sites; keep tamed animals in a fenced raft pen with a Grass Plot.
Capture a Clucker, Goat or Llama with a Net Launcher and Net Canister, then keep it in a raft pen with watered Grass. Collect the product associated with the animal: eggs, milk or wool. Grass is the continuing feed requirement, so set up the plot before bringing livestock aboard.
Find a Clucker, Goat or Llama on a large island and approach with the Net Launcher equipped with a Net Canister.
Fire the launcher to capture the animal, then transport it back to the raft.
Build a fenced pen around a Grass Plot and water the plot so Grass can grow.
Place the captured animal inside the pen and keep Grass available as its feed.
Collect eggs from Cluckers, use a Bucket to collect Goat milk, or use Shears to gather Llama wool.
Store each product for the recipes or provisions that need it, and check that the animal still has access to Grass.
Water the plot as needed so the pen continues to provide feed.
Farming tips
Build and water the pen before capture so the animal has a prepared home on arrival.
Keep tools and storage close to the pen to make collection part of routine raft maintenance.
Repeat, collect and use
Livestock are a continuing production setup: maintain Grass, then collect eggs, milk or wool as the relevant animal produces it. Capturing animals is a limited island activity until you find another one.
Common mistakes
Expecting crop vegetables or flowers to feed animals: livestock need Grass from Grass Plots.
Capturing without a pen: prepare fenced, watered Grass first.
Forgetting the product tool: bring a Bucket for milk and Shears for wool; eggs are collected from Cluckers.
When to stop or switch
Keep an animal while its product is useful and you can maintain Grass; reduce the pen or stop expanding when feed and storage are stretched.
