WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Farm plots around a placed Olla.
Use an Olla as a local water reservoir for a field patch. Its practical value comes from placing it where you are growing crops and checking its water supply; it does not remove the need to manage the field or maintain the pot.
The Olla farming idea and access to craft or place an Olla.
A crop patch close enough to benefit from the placed pot; confirm effective coverage in your farm.
Waterskin or Water Bucket to refill it during dry weather.
Unlock the Olla idea through village progression and make or obtain the pot.
Choose a position beside the cultivated patch, leaving room to plant around it.
Place the Olla and start with crops in its nearby area rather than assuming it covers the whole farm.
Fill the reservoir with a Waterskin or Water Bucket.
Plant and water crops as needed while learning which nearby tiles receive support in your layout.
Check the pot after dry weather or when nearby crops need attention.
Refill the Olla with a Waterskin or Water Bucket; rain also replenishes it.
Farming tips
Test the coverage in your own field before relying on the pot for a large planting; exact reach can depend on placement and should be confirmed in play.
Set a refill check into your normal crop-care loop so the reservoir does not quietly run dry.
Repeat, collect and use
Olla placement is a setup task. Checking and refilling it is a repeatable maintenance loop; rain refills it, while dry weather can require manual refills.
Common mistakes
Treating the Olla as an unlimited sprinkler: keep its finite reservoir filled.
Planting a large field before confirming coverage: start with nearby tiles and observe the result.
Leaving it empty through dry periods: check it as part of routine field care.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding Ollas when the crop patch you intend to support is covered in practice and refills fit your routine; use manual watering for crops outside that area.
