Rain Catcher Water

A rain catcher provides a local water collection point at camp, helping prepare a flask for travel when conditions allow.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Outside at a regular base, positioned where you can check it during returns.

Set up the collector outside your base and use it as a situational water source. Its collection depends on rain; cold or freezing conditions can interrupt collection until snow conditions change. Treat it as supplemental camp infrastructure, then carry a flask when leaving so the water is useful on dry or winter trips.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Turtle shell and sticks for the collector.
  • An outdoor placement at camp.
  • A flask for carrying collected water.
  1. Choose an outdoor spot near your base where you can inspect the collector during normal returns.
  2. Build the water collector using its in-game structure requirements, including a turtle shell and sticks.
  3. Leave it exposed to weather rather than placing it inside a shelter.
  4. Check the collector after rainy conditions and collect water when available.
  5. Fill your flask from the collected supply before leaving camp.
  6. Carry the flask on trips where finding water may be inconvenient.
  7. Recheck the collector after later weather changes and refill as needed.

Farming tips

  • Collection is weather-dependent; do not assume it will refill during dry or freezing conditions.
  • Keep the flask with your travel kit so the camp supply becomes portable.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable when conditions allow collection, but not a continuous guaranteed source; freezing conditions can interrupt it until snow conditions change.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting water during dry or freezing weather; check after suitable rainfall or changing conditions.
  • Building the collector far from camp and forgetting to check it; put it on a regular return path.
  • Leaving without collecting or carrying water; fill the flask before travel.

When to stop or switch

Stop relying on the collector for a trip if conditions have not produced water; switch to another available water source and check the structure again later.
