Refinery Pixels

A Refinery converts eligible surplus ores into Pixels for shops and crafting-related expenses.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A Refinery placed at a base or ship after crafting it at an Engineer’s Table.

Use the Refinery as a controlled way to turn ores into currency. It is crafted at an Engineer’s Table using Titanium Bars, and it produces Pixels from most ores. Keep materials reserved for progression recipes, especially late-tier crafting inputs, before processing leftovers. Solarium Stars cannot be refined this way.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • An Engineer’s Table and the materials, including Titanium Bars, needed to craft a Refinery.
  • Surplus eligible ore you are willing to convert.
  • A storage plan for ores reserved for equipment and station recipes.
  1. Unlock access to an Engineer’s Table and craft a Refinery using its displayed recipe.
  2. Place the Refinery at a convenient base or ship location where you can store and retrieve materials.
  3. Review your ore inventory and set aside amounts required for current equipment, station, and progression recipes.
  4. Place only surplus eligible ore into the Refinery input using its interface.
  5. Allow the station to process the ore and collect the resulting Pixels from its output.
  6. Spend the Pixels at shops or other valid uses, then return with more surplus ore when currency is needed.
  7. Check the next planned crafting goal before each processing run so rare materials are not consumed accidentally.

Farming tips

  • The Refinery returns more Pixels for ore than selling those items to merchants, according to its conversion mechanic.
  • Solarium Stars are not valid Refinery input; keep them for crafting.

Repeat, collect and use

The currency loop is repeatable while you have spare eligible ores. Each batch consumes the ore, so continued output requires further mining or another ore source.

Common mistakes

  • Refining ore needed for an upcoming recipe; reserve crafting quantities before loading the station.
  • Expecting Solarium Stars to process; they are excluded from Refinery input.
  • Confusing a Refinery with a Furnace; the Refinery makes Pixels, while furnaces smelt ore into bars.

When to stop or switch

Stop converting ore when you have enough Pixels for your current purchase or when the remaining ore is needed for crafting.
