Where to farm
Clyde beside the pond at the Great Desert Oasis.
Fishing begins after speaking with Clyde beside the Great Desert Oasis pond. Use the initial access to learn the activity and then spend catch-earned Fishing Points with Clyde on Fishing Data. Data purchases unlock access to larger fish categories, so progress through them before expecting to pursue every size class. Fishing is a collection activity, not an infinite materials farm. The base-game guide here excludes fish specific to the NIKKE DLC.
Speak with Clyde to unlock fishing; if the current quest state requires it, complete the Looking Glass quest line first.
Bring available starter bait and leave time to check new catches in the Data Bank.
Travel to the Great Desert Oasis and speak with Clyde beside the pond.
If fishing is not offered, check your current quest state and complete the Looking Glass quest line if required, then speak with him again.
Start with the bait and fishing access currently available to you.
Catch fish at the pond and check the Data Bank so new species register toward collection.
Use catch-earned Fishing Points to purchase the next available Fishing Data from Clyde.
Return to the pond after each unlock and test the newly available fish category with its appropriate bait.
Continue the catch, registration, and Data purchase loop until the fish collection goal or reward is complete.
Farming tips
Check Clyde’s Data inventory before spending points so you can see which purchase advances your next size class.
Track registered species in the Data Bank; repeated catches of already recorded fish do not substitute for missing entries.
Repeat, collect and use
You can continue fishing and spending earned Fishing Points while uncompleted Data and species remain. Fish collection is limited, not a guaranteed endless resource loop.
Common mistakes
Expecting fishing before speaking with Clyde: start at the Oasis and complete any prerequisite quest state.
Trying to target large or jumbo fish before buying their Fishing Data: unlock the appropriate class first.

When to stop or switch
Stop when the desired Fishing Data is unlocked or the collection reward target is complete; switch to a specific pond or size-class route for missing fish.
