The drone scanner is a search aid for Body Core collection, especially in broad areas where a corpse is difficult to spot from the main route. It highlights fallen Angels, whose bodies can hold permanent HP upgrades. Scanning does not itself award a core; follow the highlight, reach the body, and interact with it. The route is useful during a region sweep, but the bodies are one-time collectibles rather than repeatable scan targets.
Before you go Unlock and use the drone scan function. Reach a region with uncollected fallen Angel bodies. Keep a regional Body Core checklist so you can distinguish new targets from completed ones. Open the regional map or checklist and choose an uncollected Body Core marker in the area. Move to a clear vantage point on the route and activate the drone scan. Look for the white highlight indicating a fallen Angel body. Follow the highlight through the terrain, checking nearby ledges, rubble, and structures if the direct path is blocked. Approach the body and collect its Body Core. Record the pickup as complete and move to the next marker before scanning the same empty ground again. At three collected cores, confirm the permanent HP increase; continue toward the 18-core cap if that is your goal. Farming tips Use scans at intervals while traversing open ground rather than repeatedly scanning the same location. If the highlight appears above or below you, inspect nearby ramps and ledges instead of circling at ground level. Repeat, collect and use Scanning can be repeated freely, but each body yields its core only once per playthrough. New Game+ restores the collectible bodies.
Common mistakes Expecting the scan to collect the item automatically: walk to the body and interact. Scanning without a target checklist: use region markers to avoid revisiting already looted bodies. Stopping at 18 when pursuing full collection: 18 reaches the HP cap, while additional cores may remain for completion. When to stop or switch Stop scanning a region when its Body Core markers are complete; switch to the next region or another upgrade target.
