Where to farm
Chaos-difficulty main missions and post-story side missions selected from the world map.
Anima Crystals are awarded for completing eligible Chaos missions. Savepoint cubes let you checkpoint and manage your party during a run, but they are not the source of these crystals. After the clear, claim the mission rewards and spend the crystals to open or raise a Chaos mission level. This guide covers the base-game post-story loop; mission availability and rewards can differ for DLC content.
Complete the main story to unlock Chaos difficulty.
Have an available Chaos mission that lists Anima Crystals among its clear rewards.
Bring equipment and jobs suited to the mission’s displayed level.
Open the world map after the story and select Chaos difficulty.
Highlight an available mission and read its level and reward panel; choose one that explicitly lists Anima Crystals.
Enter the mission and progress through its objectives. Use cubes to save progress or adjust your loadout when needed.
Complete the stage rather than leaving after reaching a cube.
Claim the mission clear rewards and check that Anima Crystals were added to your balance.
Return to mission selection and inspect the level or unlock cost for the next Chaos target.
Spend crystals on a mission that serves your current gear or progression goal, then check its displayed level before launching.
Farming tips
Confirm the crystal reward on the mission panel each time; a mission’s first-clear bonus is separate from its recurring clear reward.
Anima Shards and Anima Crystals are distinct resources. Track the exact item name when checking your inventory.
Repeat, collect and use
Eligible Chaos mission clears can be repeated for their displayed recurring rewards. First-clear bonuses are limited to the first completion.
Common mistakes
Expecting a cube to grant crystals: cubes are checkpoints; complete the mission and claim its rewards.
Counting Anima Shards as crystals: verify the resource name before planning an unlock.
Choosing a level you cannot clear consistently: switch to a manageable mission that still lists a crystal reward.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have enough crystals for the next intended mission unlock or level increase. If the chosen stage becomes unreliable, switch to a lower-level Chaos mission with a confirmed crystal reward.
